HOW TO WRITE THE PERFECT COVER LETTER
Your cover letter is a way of introducing yourself to your new employer
- Your cover letter should always be on one page
- It is addressed to a specific individual, not ‘Dear Sir or Madam’
- It has your contact details on it, with a professional sounding email address that you regularly access, and a mobile number that is current and working.
- It has a job title, a reference number and your name
Demonstrate your skills in your covering letter.
Each job application should be tailored in such a way that highlights your skills and abilities to show you are right for the position.
Firstly, you should identify the key points from the job description, including experience, training and qualifications required. Once this has been gathered, you should tailor your cover letter to highlight examples of your work history that proves that you can do what is expected of you alongside your qualifications and training received.
Once your cover letter has all the relevant aspects relating to the position, you should then re-read to ensure so that it makes sense. A suggestion may be asking a friend to review it. We at JAMM Recruitment would be happy to do so on your behalf also.
